The landmarked building in Neustadt 497 offers a typical example of the development and construction of a townhouse in Landshut from the beginnings of Bavarian town planning in Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque times to the present day. The baroque form of the gable, which has been preserved to this day, dates back to a rebuilding in the 17th century.

In 2004, the building was constructed in close cooperation with the Bavarian State Office for Monument Protection has been extensively renovated and converted into a residential and commercial building according to today’s standards. As it has been the case for hundreds of years, the ground floor is now used as a commercial unit, the upper and top floor for residential purposes and the basement as a storage area. The roof peak is kept open and additionally exposes or ventilates the attic with the help of roof windows.
